Open for Everything: The New MESH System Furniture
Design: Werner Aisslinger, 2016
At Orgatec 2016, Piure will be presenting the MESH range of furniture, created
in collaboration with designer Werner Aisslinger. Breaking with tradition to
break new ground: MESH creates openness and transparency in the office, and
also sets new accents in the home. Exclusive materials are applied in
contemporary ways to lend every environment an individual and luxurious note.
MESH – Transparency in the Changing World of Work
Slim metal profiles, powder-coated in different colours, painted or chrome-plated, perforated sheet metal and glass in various beautiful shades: MESH presents a dynamic interaction of light and colour and of plain and textured surfaces, creating a light-flooded and friendly ambience in the office. The system stands out thanks to the luxurious and filigree finish of its elements and detailing, which is typical for the Piure style. MESH’s open and versatile nature supports a work culture characterised by networking and the free flow of information, ideas and creativity. Werner Aisslinger calls this “the osmotic office”.
The combination of open, closed and semi-transparent elements offers sufficient privacy while supporting many different forms of communication. MESH is a versatile system for offices and for the commercial sector: the complex modular system includes elements for the reception area, for storage and organisation and for meetings held while standing up or sitting down. All social and creative functions have been considered. The size and aesthetics of individual solutions can be customised to match bespoke requirements. The mix of materials used in MESH is original and unique: while stained glass surfaces exude an air of luxury, the system’s characteristic perforated sheet metal elements are reminiscent of Op Art, creating an almost kinetic effect of differently sized, flowing circles.
“Openness is a key aspect in the entire range. There are many materials and textures with which the surfaces and frames can be finished or filled. MESH is open for everything”, says Piure CEO Ludger Köhler. And for those who need more privacy, the open surfaces can also be closed: optional flaps and drawer systems can be integrated into each of the differently sized modules, offering storage space for all those little everyday things.
Bold Colours and Bright Prospects for MESH
The range’s contemporary expression is underlined by a fresh colour concept. Dynamic elementary colours such as blue, yellow or red create a modern statement in the office and can support corporate identity. But there are also more subtle shades, especially tone-in-tone solutions, lending the system an unobtrusive presence and creating a bridge into the home segment: in January 2017, MESH will show its domestic face at imm cologne. MESH offers a versatility that allows total creative freedom.
