Reader Chair

This chair is a continuation of Roman and Williams’ exploration of vernacular archetypes. It is a bridge from the traditional to the modern. For the designers, the goal was to isolate the piece from the constraints of competing forms often seen in similar leather sling chair designs. With an eye towards simple geometry, refined details, and articulation, the Reader was born. Hardy leather is combined with fine wood and custom brass hardware to create something that is at once comfortable and familiar – a studied classic. Combined with the black cushion, which is shaped to cultivate the ideal head position for reading, this chair will surely become the favorite of any avid thinker.
