For the 2025 Salone del Mobile, Unopiù introduces SALÒ, an outdoor collection capturing the charm and atmosphere of Northern Italy’s lakeside landscapes. Designed by Matteo Thun and Benedetto Fasciana, SALÒ is envisioned as a stylistic passe-partout that celebrates the lightness of modernist movement, the elegance of timeless materials, and the purity of form.
The collection includes lounge and dining armchairs, two- and three-seater sofas, tables, and additional furnishings like sun loungers and coffee tables. The chairs and loungers are stackable, a practical feature designed to meet the demands of functionality and space optimization, especially in the hospitality sector.
Its structure is made of ultra-light aluminum and is offered in natural and sophisticated tones: terracotta, graphite, sage, and sand. These carefully chosen colors evoke the reflections of water and earthy nuances. The round-section frame draws inspiration from modernism, paying tribute to Bauhaus masters and, particularly, the language of Lina Bo Bardi.
A signature element of the SALÒ collection is the seating system with padded cushions, not just accessories but a fundamental part of the design, adding character to the collection. The backrests of the armchairs and sofas are framed by a large folded cushion that adjusts to the body, offering comfort and softness. This detail was designed to highlight the rear of the furniture, an area often overlooked, making both seat and backrest equally central.
Meticulous attention has been given to construction quality and craftsmanship details:
welds are minimized and nearly invisible, contributing to the clean aesthetics and
emphasizing the excellence of the finish. At the same time, the organic curves of the
seating structure, defined by a curved armrest, recall the lines of a calm lake surface,
highlighting the balance between form and function.
Tables in the collection are available in two versions: with a full aluminum structure or with a stoneware top. The latter, chosen for its durability and elegance, comes in two finishes: terracotta, perfect for matching its namesake frame, and desert, ideal for the sand, sage, and graphite variants. This material and color selection allows the tables to blend seamlessly with the entire Unopiù catalogue, offering both a more accessible and a more refined version to suit different needs and tastes.
Simple, lightweight, comfortable, flexible, and modern, SALÒ, named in tribute to Lake Garda, evoking its colors, freshness, and essence, is a true expression of Italian style and Unopiù’s philosophy. It transcends time and trends, blending elegance and functionality with a contemporary vision.
