Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) is the lowest carbon building material. It is engineered by layering wood panels alternating in 90 degree angles to each other, and bonding them together with adhesive. It is usually 3-7 layers but more layers can be done if required.

This process creates an exceptionally strong, versatile, and sustainable building material that outperforms traditional construction materials in several aspects, including but are not limited to: Strength-to-Weight ratio, Speed of construction, Durability, Sustainability, Design Flexibility, and Wellbeing.

Cross-laminated timber panels are commonly used as an alternative to concrete for structural purposes like floors, walls, roofs and stairs…etc.

With extensive expertise in bonding large structural timber members, cutting-edge CAD/CAM and CNC technology and capabilities; Red Stag TimberLab excels in producing large, engineered wood products like cross-laminated timber. This proficiency ensures that every member is manufactured to international best practices, enabling us to deliver quality and efficient, bespoke engineered timber solutions.

Whether it’s for residential, commercial, or industrial applications, Red Stag TimberLab CLT offers robust and sustainable building solutions that exhibit the best of New Zealand’s engineering and innovation.

Tinline Development

The Tinline Development in Nelson, New Zealand, is an award-winning mass timber commercial building designed by Irving Smith Architects. It advances sustainable urban construction through a hybrid engineered-timber structure that significantly reduces embodied carbon, enhances seismic resilience, and expands the possibilities of structural timber in urban environments.
