Stools designed for the Italian Furniture Brand MDF Italia:

The legs of stools are normally constructed from column-like parts. However, this design was conceived based on a single mold of rigid polyurethane so as to give a soft and supple impression. The legs form inverted arch shapes, in the manner of suspended cloth, that fuse together from three directions into a single shape.

The concave arch structure makes sense not only from the perspective of strength, but it is also robust because it effectively disperses forces, and the curvature and flexibility of the resin absorb the load there placed.

There are two versions of the stool, one with a resin seat and the other with a bamboo laminated seat.
