Climate monitoring

Tandem door air curtains provide controlled screening of cold air at open doorways, thereby significantly reducing energy loss while creating a comfortable climate indoors all year round. Available as free-hanging or cassette ceiling mounted units, common areas of application include retail chains, showrooms, malls and public buildings.

Tandem Door air curtains use a patented combination of both ambient and warm air streams. Adverse weather, in summer and in winter, stays outside, thanks to the enhanced penetration depth between two parallel air streams of different temperatures.

The unique feature of Tandem door air curtains is their air guidance: the self-regulating multi-stream air outlet is generated by a single fan group. The unheated ambient air stream automatically adapts to the air volume of the heated air stream when the fan speed changes. The heated air is protected by the ambient air stream and cannot escape to the outside. The ambient air stream has a greater flow velocity than the warm air stream and so acts as a back-up air stream, eliminating adverse turbulence and improving performance.

Compared to conventional systems, up to 38 % of energy is saved. Thus, there is a significantly faster return on investment.

Modular and customized design enables multiple devices to appear as single visual units. Valves can be ceased behind the ceiling. Tandem door air curtains can be simply controlled by the combined controller (for fan speed control and room temperature control) or with the convenience of KaControl. They can also be flexibly integrated in automation systems via the KaControl‘s BMS interfaces.

Composition of the product/Material: The key components of the product include: - powder-coated sheet steel casing - EC radial fan - high-performance copper/aluminium heat exchanger - easily removable air filter (grade G 2 in line with EN 779) - outlet air rectifier - anti-twist device for heating connection

Technical aspects (size, weight, consumption, sound, sustainability,...): - free-hanging unit (extensions possible) or cassette ceiling unit - four models available (12, 20, 25, 30), i.e. four sizes (300 x 800/820 x 1,200/1,250, 1,950/2,000, 2,450/2,500, 2,950/3,000 mm → smaller dimensions for cassette ceiling unit) - 64 – 158 kg - max. discharge height 2.7 – 3.2 m (at good to average pressure ratios/requirements/conditions) - max. door width 1.25 – 3.00 m - air volume of 700 – 5,810 m³/h (continuously variable) - heat output 4.6 – 30.1 kW (at a LPHW 75/65 °C, EAT = 20 °C) - sound pressure level 32 – 65 dB(A) (based on expected room insulation of 16 dB(A), a distance of 3 m, a room volume of 2,000 m³ and a reverberation time of 1.0 s) - patented Tandem technology with up to 38 % energy savings - KaControl system or electromechanical control possible

Origin: - manufactured in Lower-Saxony, Germany

Application: - at open doorways to efficiently screen cold outside air - versatile use in retail chains, showrooms and retail outlets, restaurants and cafés and public buildings - wall or ceiling-mounted (suitable for mounting heights of 2.7 – 3.2 m)
