The Kruiscope won the design competition for a 1 square meter cinema that was organized by the Architectuur Centrum Nijmegen. It was inspired by Oscar Dominguez' Wheelbarrow from 1937 and Marcel Duchamp's Bicycle Wheel from 1913. The exterior is inspired by a stereotype Cinema auditorium while the inside has a typical cinema-interior feel. Materials include anthracite washed scaffolding-wood box on a pine construction, orange felt on the inside, a transparant acryl roof and a chopperwheel on the front. The object had to be tiltable and still usable for watching movies on an iPad.
