Momentum Textiles & Wallcovering has unveiled a new collection designed by Sina Pearson that holds texture and color in playful juxtaposition: Unexpected. Robust with visual intrigue, color, texture and style, the Unexpected collection offers the commercial industry three fresh designs in a range of surprising and bold colorways. For Pearson, textile design has always been rooted in balancing inspiration with a deliberate, yet organic process. This new collection— Momentum’s 12th with Pearson— celebrates this idea with exuberant colors, textures and designs that are, as the name suggests, unexpected. The textile range also meets the most demanding industry performance standards and sustainability metrics - including GREENGUARD and PVC-free. Unexpected will make its debut at NeoCon in Chicago – June 12-14, 2023.

“Leading with optic fascination, Unexpected truly captures the creative spirit of Sina Pearson’s unparalleled ability to fuse color and texture,” comments Jennifer Nye, Chief Marketing & Creative Officer at Momentum Textiles & Wallcovering. “Her ever joyful and fresh use of color and scale brings three phenomenal new patterns for designers and specifiers to leverage across commercial, workplace and hospitality interiors. We’re excited for this collection to launch at NeoCon and to showcase the depth that these textiles add to Momentum’s range.”

Inspired by chunky textures and beguiling colors - particularly lime, peach and lavender - Pearson envisioned a comprehensive collection of fabrics that immediately catches the eye. Marrying calm hues with punchy accents, Unexpected reflects color combinations that can be seen across recent fashion, art and cultural trends. In crafting the three defining designs for the collection - Thick and Thin, Tweedy and Modern Plaid - Pearson was determined to have each textile evoke emotion— each of the designs and its respective colorway options were intentionally designed to be inviting, to be exciting, to be surprising yet extraordinary. For specifiers and designers, this collection offers design solutions that pair well with solids, patterns and other textures for public and private spaces across the commercial sector.
