Be honest, you don’t use outdoor sofas for most of the year. So why is that part of the year usually when they look ugliest? We think that is the time when they should look their best.
Our climate limits the amount of time you can actually spend sitting on outdoor sofas. They usually look fantastic in good weather, only to be transformed into a bare frame for the rest of the year or hidden away under an ugly cover. What is more, they usually cannot withstand a raw, harsh climate and are certainly not suitable for leaving outside all year round.
We have turned the original outdoor sofa idea completely inside out. There is an ingenious storage pouch hidden in the back of the Walrus where you can tuck away the ‘soft parts’ of the sofa – a blanket and cushion – in bad weather. When the sun appears you can get them back out in a matter of seconds, giving you a comfortable place to sit in the garden that stays dry all year round. It is even lovely and warm in winter. The parts that are permanently exposed to the elements are made of an extremely robust tarpaulin material that does not absorb any water or dirt. The sofa’s somewhat bulky form ensures that water drains away quickly. Thanks to this smooth, washable material, care and maintenance are kept to a minimum. The part of the sofa that comes into contact with the body is made from soft, tactile, high-quality material. Walrus saves on storage space inside the house and, more than anything, it saves you a lot of time and effort. It is a real tool for togetherness that makes spending time together as pleasant as can be, all year round!
