XCarb® is ArcelorMittal’s brand for its reduced- and low-carbon-emissions steel products, steelmaking activities, and wider decarbonisation initiatives. The range includes XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel, manufactured in an electric arc furnace using high levels of recycled steel scrap and electricity from renewable sources backed by recognised Guarantees of Origin.
XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel is available across a range of flat, long, and tubular products for structural, facade, roofing, reinforcement, and other construction applications. It provides the technical and structural performance of the equivalent conventional steel product while offering a substantially reduced production-related carbon footprint. Its high recycled content reduces demand for primary raw materials, while steel can be recovered, reused, or recycled at the end of its service life, supporting circular material flows.
Product-specific, independently verified EPDs are available for XCarb® structural sections, reinforcing steel, hollow sections, and flat-steel products.
