Anchoring the largest private real estate development in U.S. history, 10 and 30 Hudson Yards embrace the prevailing character of the West Side and announces the burgeoning neighborhood with a fresh visual dynamic.

Rising above the Empire State Building, the 1,296-foot-tall 30 Hudson Yards is the second tallest office building in New York City, and features river-to-river panoramic views, outdoor terraces, a triple-height lobby, and direct access to the No. 7 subway line. The tallest tower in the development, 30 Hudson Yards is home to the highest outdoor observation deck in the Western Hemisphere, Edge, and serves as the headquarters for global media and entertainment company Warner Media, as well as its subsidiaries, HBO, CNN, and Warner Brothers. The Class-A office tower features large, efficient floor plans, cutting-edge communications systems for tenants and unparalleled amenities for workers.

Anchoring the southern corner of the site and straddling the famed High Line, 10 Hudson Yards, also a Class-A office tower, serves as COACH’s global headquarters as well as host to such world-class companies as L’Oréal USA and SAP. COACH's vertical campus features a soaring atrium and floor-to-ceiling glass in a column-free space designed to accommodate the modern high-density office environment.

Designed as a pair, the two towers tilt in opposing directions – one faces the city and the other toward the Hudson River – engaging in a purposeful dialogue with one another. The towers’ dynamic skyline presence offers varying experiences depending on the viewing location and marks Hudson Yards within the New York cityscape.

AkzoNobel rises to the challenge at historic Hudson Yards project in New York

New York’s historic Hudson Yards development – which is changing the city’s iconic skyline – has reached its latest milestone, and AkzoNobel has made a major contribution.

The largest private real estate development in US history, the ongoing project recently saw completion of the two towers at 10 and 30 Hudson Yards. Taller than the Empire State Building, the impressive glass and steel structure of 30 Hudson Yards uses AkzoNobel’s high performance Interpon D architectural powder coatings.  In fact, most of the aluminum on the tower is coated with Interpon D3000 Fluromax metallic powder coatings, including the highly prominent first five stories.

Described as a template for the future of cities, the new Manhattan neighborhood represents one of the most complex construction projects New York has ever seen – with AkzoNobel also supplying powder and liquid coatings for several other new buildings in various stages of completion.

“We have a long track record of supplying market-leading products for iconic buildings all over the world and are very excited to be involved in the Hudson Yards development,” adds Daniela Vlad, Managing Director of AkzoNobel’s Powder Coatings business. “Customers value our unique ability to supply top quality powder and liquid coatings and meet any specification, no matter how demanding.”

A stand-out feature of 30 Hudson Yards is an outdoor observation deck which is the highest in the western hemisphere. Expected to open to the public in 2020, it rises 335 meters (1,100 feet) in the air and extends 20 meters (65 feet) from the building.

Hudson Yards will eventually encompass more than 20 buildings, including residential and office space, retail outlets, restaurants and a luxury hotel.

AkzoNobel’s Interpon products can already be found not too far away on One Vanderbilt, 50 and 35 Hudson Yards, 425 Park Avenue and Essex Building in New York City.
