29a Setmana Del Llibre En Català (29th Catalan Book Week) - 2011 (Barcelona)

Meritxell Inaraja i Genís, arquitecta as Architects

The Catalan Book Week is a fair that takes place every year for two weeks in September in the center of Barcelona city.

For the 2011 edition, the new stands were built from a manufactured product and a natural material , easy to transport and recycling: wooden transport boxes.

So, the stands are wood transport boxes manipulated to became a selling stand that when they are closed offer the maximum safety, and a lot of product’s visibility when opened.

For the first time , the boxes were placed on a park and on a wood platform that defined and guarantee the flatness of the surface , isolated from dust and rain and allowed the facilities.

On future editions the same boxes can land directly on the pavement of streets, squares, parks , trails , beaches ... to open up and show what they have inside and create a world of their own.
