Opposite the Pantin town hall, along the Ourcq canal, the building is a signal of the urban quality of the city centre, requiring a strong identity and an architecture open to its environment.
The project is designed as a homogeneous whole, remarkable for its materiality. An envelope of gray-taupe brick characterizes the urban facades of the plot, creating the bow of the islet. The protective envelope opens to the south, orienting the building towards the canal.
These breathing leaves appear a heart of island in which unfold shiny concrete facades and long balconies metal, offering all of the accommodation a view of the canal and an orientation to the south.
Like an amethyst, the center of the project offers the look shine, transparency and roughness contrasting with the smooth character of the facades in brick of the main envelope.
A brasserie is located at the corner of the Place de the Town Hall and the quay, opening the building on its environment. Access to housing has been designed in this same desire to be open to the site. Instead than a simple hall on the street, this is an open passage on a patio planted in the heart of the island.
The project has 40 homes, which can be through, south-facing duplexes, or benefit from of a dual orientation. They mostly have a generously sized balcony.
