Nature-Inspired Living in Dubai Festival City
Located within Dubai Festival City's established Al Badia District, Al Badia Terraces is a collection of five contemporary residential buildings comprising 331 apartments. RSP was hired as the interior designers of this project for Al-Futtaim Group.
The design embraces the site's mature greenery and open views, establishing a strong connection between the interiors and nature. Rather than competing with the landscape, the interiors provide a calm backdrop that allows natural light, framed views and carefully selected materials to shape the living experience.
Interiors Rooted in Nature
The interior concept is founded on three guiding principles: the beauty of nature, the atmosphere of a peaceful retreat and the comfort of a private sanctuary. These ideas are expressed through a restrained palette of natural materials, soft textures and warm tones that create spaces designed for everyday living.
Throughout the apartments, rich oak timber introduces warmth and permanence, while taupe stone finishes and textured surfaces provide depth and subtle contrast. Gold-veined stone accents bring moments of refinement without overwhelming the calm aesthetic, while warm white walls maximise daylight and reinforce a sense of openness.
Together, these carefully curated materials create interiors that feel contemporary, timeless and inherently connected to their surroundings.
A Cohesive Residential Journey
The design language extends seamlessly into the shared spaces, ensuring a consistent experience from arrival through to each residence. Corridors and communal areas have been designed as extensions of the homes themselves rather than transitional spaces.
Concrete-effect porcelain flooring provides durability alongside understated elegance, complemented by oak timber detailing, textured limestone-effect wall finishes and satin nickel accents. Timber-patterned ventilation grilles and integrated wayfinding elements are carefully incorporated into the architecture, while planting introduces softness and reinforces the connection to nature.
Every element has been considered to create welcoming, intuitive spaces that enhance the daily experience of residents.
