Offices for a law firm in Barcelona. Designed by Sheila Llovet and Anna Torndelacreu, founders of wearecrude. For this project, we aimed to complement the original architecture of the building, designed by José Antonio Coderch de Sentmenat in 1968 - one of the most influential post-World War II architects. Hence, our design explores the relationship between space and curves.
We aimed to expose the building’s original features as much as possible, which had been covered up by the previous decor. The result was an elegant yet simple design that avoided adding anything that would hide the building’s original architectural style. We used natural materials to bring warmth to the space and a homogeneous colour palette to make the custom-made furniture stand out. The office table is made of natural oak, and the shelves are made of walnut wood combined with a mural fabric.
The office area features a custom-made piece of furniture that matches its surrounding colours, along with cast iron shelves and countertop. The result was a total transformation: From a design that hide the building’s original features into a simple and modern office with prominent natural light.
