Amidst the rugged heights of the Rocky Mountains, a series of monolithic structures anchor into the high alpine landscape. These remote stations serve as seasonal field laboratories for climate researchers studying the region’s plants, animals, soils, and geology.

Perched on rocky outcroppings above valleys and peaks over 13,000 feet, each station houses labs, offices, meeting spaces, and quarters for up to ten researchers, with small temporary shelter spaces for passing hikers.
