AP Apartment is situated in Barcelona’s Eixample Derecha, an area with impressive turn of the century buildings. We designed and executed this project to create a vivid dialogue between old and new. The distribution respects the originally found architecture, but was modified to become a stage for contemporary living for a family from the UK.

Original elements such as all the frescos on walls, moldings in the ceiling, and floor tiles have been carefully restored.

The built-in furniture, found in almost every room, was designed and custom made by the studio. Including the library wall in the drawing room, the kitchen, the dressing area as well as pieces for the bathroom and the study.

Furniture and lights were chosen in line with set parameters. One can find a selection of modern classics like the Barcelona chair, Vitra and Gubi designed sofas, and mid century design pieces.

The project was complex due to the size of the apartment, the age of the property and client ambitions to achieve a significant change within a controlled budget.
