A couple with their two young children wanted some occasional changes that could organize the family's routine and experience at home. The children, who slept in separate rooms, asked us to stay together in one room. In this way, Matú was called to the challenge of projecting a layout that would fit two beds in one room, establishing a qualified space. The other room would become a playroom, which would make the organization of this home much easier.
What guided the project? What were the inspirations?
The Real Parque apartment brings us specific needs to be solved in a singular way. The office room was a challenge, because the residents had lots of books. So, we designed wood and marble shelves, on a metallic structure, adding lightness to the whole space. For the bathroom, we suggested a brickwork bathtub for children's recreation and play moments, without losing comfort while using the shower. In the kids’ bedroom, the bunk is the main point because of its colors, and the toys, already decorative, complete the atmosphere. The same happens in the playroom, where we design a plywood joinery, avoiding a polluted aesthetic.
Main points of the project
The bathtub is an important highlight because it attended directly to the couple’s needs. The bunk was also an important choice, which allows us to put two beds and a desk in such a small room.
Curiosity
The custom-made joineries and steelwork are always the highlight of our projects.
