The JMJ Apartment project, designed by Lívia Leite of Estúdio Maré, is an invitation to everyday life with lightness, color, and warmth. Located in the Vila Clementino neighborhood of São Paulo, the 113m² property was delivered by the construction company with the subfloor intact, without any prior interventions, and transformed into a contemporary and welcoming home for a couple and their son. Construction began in May 2025 and is scheduled for completion in September of the same year.
The clients sought a comfortable and functional space where they could cook and entertain friends in a relaxed atmosphere—and it was with this desire in mind that Estúdio Maré defined the project concept. The kitchen became the heart of the home: integrated into the living room, it comes to life with colorful tile flooring and vibrant woodwork. The central island, in addition to organizing the space, serves as a meeting point for culinary experiences and family moments.
In the living area, the highlight is the continuous shelving that extends from the rack to the ceiling, housing a generous collection of books—a symbol of the residents' interests and memories. The kilim rug, a longtime dream of the couple, adds texture and color to the room, reinforcing the relaxed and personal character of the space.
The powder room expresses the project's creative spirit with a custom-molded sink and tiled flooring, which complements the residence's other hues. In the private spaces, custom carpentry organizes and optimizes the rooms, reflecting the desire for practicality and comfort. The bathrooms retain the original finishes provided by the builder but gain new layers of color and personality. In the master bathroom, green appears on the walls and on the shower bench, carved from the same granite as the original countertop—a gesture of continuity and respect for what already existed.
Designer furniture and objects complete the composition with subtlety and authenticity: the dining table is by Alessandra Delgado, the sofa is from Menu Casa, and the rug is from Botteh. The lighting design, developed by Estúdio Maré itself, highlights the textures and color palette of the spaces, with lighting fixtures supplied by Mais Led.
The décor, also led by Estúdio Maré, reinforces the project's visual identity. Objects from Vener Decor and Objekti were carefully selected to create a light and affectionate atmosphere, where each piece contributes to the balance of color, texture, and memory.
The result is an apartment that reflects, in every detail, the routine and affection of a family who wanted a space to live happily. At JMJ Apartment, design doesn't impose itself—it embraces, reveals, and celebrates the colors and stories that make a house a true home.
