Within the practice of an urban fabric, very rarely do we get a chance to design a house where the built-up is far less than the open spaces. With a sprawling garden situated in the heart of the city, this house is designed to casually sit within its surroundings, seamlessly allowing the indoors and the outdoors to blend with each other.  The ultimate intent of all our design endeavors has been to allow the greens to eventually take over the built form.

The client who is well travelled and understands the true meaning of luxury deserves a home that emotes the same feelings as themselves. Thus, the end result of all our design deliberations focused not on creating a symphony of materials and finishes, but playing them in a soothing tune with the right proportions. The spatial needs and demand for every individual’s privacy have been addressed in the planning and detailing of spaces.

The interiors are designed to be subtle and understated in terms of their overall material language, but at the same time are envisaged to be overwhelming in terms of the visual impact they would leave on the users when combined with the adjoining volumes. Every space transits into an adjoining outdoor garden helping us blur the line between the inside and outside. Within the interiors, intricately designed screens, surfaces and textures blend in a largely uniform visual vocabulary.

While the house on one hand is governed by the latest technology and sophistication, on the other is willfully Indian at its core values of planning and a dialogue it tends to have with the surrounding greens. The client’s art collection has been integrated right from the first lines we drew and the furniture is designed to complement these pieces of original art. The textures, textiles and ascent colors have helped us in achieving the desired impact on the end users..!!
