A bachelor's flat built in an early 20th century apartment house in an alleyway near Arbat. A comparatively small area of 70 square meters (750 sq. feet) dictates the minimalistic and functional approach: a common area that incorporates the living room, the kitchen and the antechamber opens up right at the entrance. The space is subdivided by a cube that contains the bathroom and a part of the kitchen appliances. A tall doorway leads from the common area into the master bedroom and dressing room linked to the storage area and the child's room.

The entire living space is unified by a single color palette and set of materials. The exterior wall brickwork has been carefully exposed, the windows sills and the table top have been cast in concrete, the window slopes made out of veneered plywood. High quality natural materials were used in all the interior works. Floors are made out of stained oak, doors and wall panels finished with Manchurian elm veneer, cabinet handles, exclusively designed for this flat, are carved out of solid rosewood.

Maritime themes are alluded to throughout the decoration works. This includes wall designs with sailboats, piers and marine birds in the bedroom and living room, the ropework and the ladder in the child's room. All of this hints at the flat owner's professional career, which involves encounters with wildlife, the high seas and fishing.
