ARKHE= the project for a beauty salon using “water” as its main theme. As water is also the source of life, the “recyclable aluminum” sheet decorate the ceiling by filling it in forms of luscious and elegant lines. Not only does the raw aluminum material come to life by this method, but it links the flow of water and the flow of hair. The walls are painted in a silver shade that mimics the glimmering reflection of light on the surface of water.
This space features a ceiling made of aluminium that reflects the calm – yet sometimes tempestuous – movements of flowing water. The appearance of the aluminum changes just like the lively movement of water. In the cutting area the ceiling is high and the flow of the water is calm, in the central passage area the ceiling height varies significantly and the flow becomes tempestuously, in the waiting area the ceiling is low, and so it changes freely, taking the desirable atmosphere and required function of each space into account.
In addition, The ceiling responds directly to the shades of light used, from bright white during the day to more emotional purple and blue hues by night. Guests can experience multiple complexities of space depending on their position of observation and the time of the day. This room conveys a simple and clear image of using water, the origin of life, for a beauty salon striving for fundamental beauty.
