Asket — The transparent office

Atelier Paul Vaugoeau as Architects

Atelier Paul Vaugoyeau designs first showroom and office for Stockholm slow-fashion label Asket.

The 210sqm space is located in an old motorcycle workshop in central Stockholm, half a floor down from street level. The space is divided into three open areas, the office with long working tables, the studio, neatly tucking away all the tools and material to design and develop new garments, and the showroom where the permanent collection is on display and customers receive personal fittings.

The spaces are organised around sliding linen panels creating both intimacy and soft lighting. The furniture is purpose built from oak stained pine plywood, bringing a warm tone to the rooms. The wood and galvanised industrial shelving contrast with rough stone walls and large concrete pillars.

“The design of Asket office and showroom started during a time when Asket founders were developing the Raw Denim in Japan. There’s an intuitive alignment with the ASKET ethos and Japanese culture in terms of relentless perfectionism, respectfulness towards resources and understated aesthetics and Japonism became the starting point of the project. ” says designer Paul Vaugoyeau.

Material Used:

1. Vitra – DSX chair

2. Atelier Paul Vaugoyeau collection – Abode Sofa
