Stomatology ASSEM DENTAL, Aktau, Kazakhstan

Modern dentistry is changing the way it is perceived. A dental clinic is no longer simply a doctors office, but a complete client experience where architecture, materials, lighting, and details shape the first impression of the brand. When designing the interior of ASSEM DENTAL, I deliberately moved away from the traditional image of a medical environment — white walls, clinical sterility, and cold lighting. My goal was to create an atmosphere where patients feel calm and comfortable from the very first moment. The concept draws on the aesthetics of a contemporary boutique hotel. Guests are welcomed by three-meter-high doors that immediately establish a sense of scale. Natural bamboo panels bring warmth and tactility to the interior, while deep green accents and living plants create a connection with nature. One of the project’s key architectural elements is the use of curved walls and custom furniture.

Their fluid geometry softens the space and gives the interior a more sculptural, organic quality. The ceiling also plays an important role. Its double-layered structure, combined with multi-level lighting, creates volume and depth, while integrated lines of light become part of the architecture itself. Here, lighting goes beyond its functional purpose: it creates atmosphere and emphasizes the key elements of the interior. French herringbone flooring visually unifies the spaces while introducing a sense of timeless elegance. Particular attention was given to the furniture, which was custom-designed specifically for the project. Curved fronts, integrated storage systems, and functional work areas are incorporated directly into the architecture, allowing the furniture to feel like a natural extension of the space rather than a separate element. The waiting area follows the principles of hospitality design. Soft furnishings, green accents, a living wall, and an integrated coffee station create the atmosphere of a five-star hotel lobby. Patients do not simply arrive to “wait for an appointment” — they enter a carefully considered environment designed around comfort and hospitality. Even the restroom continues the same concept.

Bespoke furniture, a living wall, brass fixtures, and soft lighting transform a purely functional room into a fully resolved design space. There are no accidental details in this project. From the doors and furniture to the lighting and technical elements, everything follows a single idea: to create a medical environment where professionalism is expressed not through clinical sterility, but through the quality of the space. For me, this is what contemporary commercial design is about: an interior that does more than enhance a business aesthetically — it becomes part of its identity and creates an emotional connection with the people who experience it.
