The house is located on a plot with not many singularities surrounded by isolated houses with pool. The orientation and the maximum use of the free space left by the building are the main inputs of the project. This is how two basic elements of Mediterranean architecture are used, such as the patio and the porch. The patio as generator of housing life, unites all spaces and brings intimacy and unity to the whole house. It also serves as a shelter from the sun and wind that can be used in winter and spring. The south porch, is the one that generates the facade of the house with a large beam of 14 meters long without any pillar and it is thought as a space to be in summer, next to the pool.
The house is built from a structure as simple as possible ceramic load-bearing walls and laminated wood beams with small distances of 4.5 meters. Natural materials that allow the house to transpire and avoid condensation. Natural black cork is used to insulate the facade and lime plaster with a breathable finish. Continuous concrete and natural stone floor in the terraces. The carpentries are made of iroko wood with natural varnishes and painted galvanized steel blinds that imitate the color of the water from the pool.
The interior space where the entrance is located and that distributes the whole house is the kitchen, which is located in the middle of the house. The distribution is intended to eliminate the corridors to the maximum and make the most of the dead spaces.
