The basic idea underlying the design is a curve as the symbol of dynamic movement. The dynamic cuts in the façade continue inside in the form of vaulted tubes. This are achieved using both curved and vaulted walls. The curve becomes a spatial element. The vehicles are presented in segments of the curves. Thus, the showroom is transformed into a shop window integrated into the city’s silhouette. The architectural principle of the terminal forms the basis for its visual identity, with alternating transparent and opaque sections as one of its key characteristics. The opaque sections of the façade are made of perforated sheet aluminium with sharp ridges. The interior of the showroom is made visible with a large frameless glass surface inserted into the façade, through which one can see the vehicles displayed in the building. Inside, the curve of the showroom simulates a section of street where vehicles are aligned in a realistic and dynamic presentation. Inside and out, the combination of carefully-selected materials and colours meets the high requirements of the Audi brand.
