An office without a reception, this Aedas Interiors-designed workplace is the first UK home of Avalara, a fast-growing America-based technology firm. As the building has a reception on the ground level and all visitors are required to sign in, there is little need for a reception desk. The front-of-house area is then served as the reception, breakout area and Tiki bar. The space was rather dated before remodelling. Aedas Interiors updated a lot of the base build and systems to turn it from Cat A to Cat B and adapted an eclectic design concept for a cool and fresh look and feel. Bright, eye-catching colours and large-scale graphics dominate the walls to convey a vivid corporate brand, with the rest of the scheme remaining monotone. At the front of the space there is a series of smart bookable meeting rooms, including a larger room that doubles as a boardroom. A sit/stand system is introduced for a high density throughout. There is also a fantastic outdoor terrace which overlooks the town, the Pavilion and the sea.
