Avonhurst residence is an example of our abilities and sensibilities in renovation, detailing and design. The design of the house emphasizes the relationship between materials and space and provides an experience of spatial extension from room to room, and between inside and outside spaces.
The renovation provided the house with light filled and cohesive spaces while sustainable practices prevail, through passive solar gains and thermal mass; natural non-toxic materials and additional insulation of the entire envelope. Sensitivity to the site included the preservation of an existing old growth Walnut tree and the introduction of new plantings.
