Covering a land area of 200,000 ㎡,Bainatas Food Park is a flour and noodle processing plant built by Baixiang Food Group. To showcase and promote the flour culture and agricultural civilization, Baixiang Group identifies this plant as a green ecological park and transforms the manufactural plant into a public space, providing exhibitions and interactive experience to the visitors. Bainatas Pavilion is the main exhibition space of the park.
Located right at the entrance of the Park, Bainatas Pavilion, on the one hand, demonstrates the brand identity and make a statement; on the other hand, it is intended to be well integrated into the green surroundings. To reach a balance, we refer to the traditional structure- Gazebo. In Chinese landscape, gazebo acts as the focus point of a garden and provides people a shelter to stay and gaze. With similar open structure, Bainatas Pavilion keeps a proper profile by fitting naturally with the landscape of the park and being expressive of the brand.
We cut the roof into high and low pieces shaping the skylight which blurs the boundary between interior and exterior spaces. Natural light variates at different moments and seasons, sculpting rich ambience as time goes by.
The pavilion has three functional spaces: working, exhibition and interaction space. The working cube is staff only while the gallery cube is open for visiting. These two individual cubes are organically connected by a curved air corridor. Both roof terraces and the main routings shared by staff and visitors are generously planted as interactive space. All these functions are merged with the green eco-park, reaching natural and harmonious coexistence under a “huge gazebo”.
