The project stems from a careful reading of the alpine landscape, with thr intention of intervening respectfully, in harmony with with the context, the place and it's memory.
The chalet, spread over two above-ground floors, houses on the raised ground floor a spacious living area with a rotating fireplace, custom - designed kitchen and bathroom; the attic level includes two bedrooms and a second bathroom.
Given the logistical challenges and limited construction time, a pre-cut X-lam timber structure with high energy permormance (class A) was chosen. The thick roof is made of Prefa aluminium sheet, while the exterior caldding alternates split local stone with thermally treated larch boards sourced from local forests.
The recessed openings create chiaroscuro effects; those on the north side are framesd with wood or plaster elements to achieve better visual balance. Doors and windows, custom - made in solid larch, are treated with natural impregnating finishes.
The interiors, finished in larch and stone, feature custom furniture, a metal staircase and a firepalce, all designed specifically for the space. The heating system includes a remote - controlled genrator that regulates temperature and humidity. Led lighting ensures visual comfort, color rendering and energy efficiency.
