In his second consecutive year, the architect presents a project of 220 m² full of mixtures and personality in partnership with Caracol
Inspired and guided by a unique curatorship, the young architect Pedro Luiz de Marqui, in his second participation in CASACOR São Paulo 2022, signs Bar Caracol in the commemorative edition of the 35th edition of the show, which takes place from July 5th to September 11th, in the Conjunto Nacional, one of the most important architectural points of the city. With the theme ‘Private infinity’, the professional presents a project full of movement, capable of bringing out feelings and energies, but permeable and free from restrictions.
In partnership with Bar Caracol, a renowned place in the Central region of São Paulo, recognized for its pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, Pedro conceived a project capable of creating this jovial and fun atmosphere characteristic of the house, in a space of 220m² with fluid environments and full of life, marked by the strong presence of colors, such as dark green, shades of gray, warm tones and a touch of pink and purple.
At the entrance, the visitor is surprised by an artistic intervention on the facade of the environment, developed by artist Lavi Israel, from the NGO Meus Refugiado. When walking through the place, the apparent cement structures mark the industrial concept, combining elegance with the urban style, without losing the coziness. Thought to bring a futuristic side, always present in his projects, the architect bet on striking metallic tones.
Tying the concept in a unique way, the highlight is the eight-meter table developed by the office itself, bringing movement and renewal. The unique piece was carved in Café Imperial granite stone in a brushed finish, where a water course circulates from end to end through a pumping system (no water wastage), which flows into a vat, serving as a water mirror.
The architect bet on the joinery signed by GRECCO, with shelves that reconstruct the frames of the Conjunto Nacional, designed in exact measures and following the same pattern. The furniture has a dual function, also serving for the display of decoration items and beverage bottles. The glass on the shelves seals the space and allows natural light to enter and a privileged view of Paulista, without interfering with the original façade. Circular shelves with LED profile surround the building's original pillars and house a bottle installation. In addition, the brand signs the two cabinets with doors, built-in handles and metal feet for storage and organization.
At the bar, DIAGEO drinks bring out the fun atmosphere with the 3D coating, which resembles a mirage. The Paraná Monte Vitta marble, used on the counter, highlights the intimate atmosphere. The sculpture by Francisco Nuk, from Galeria Lume, brings the concept of dance very present in Bar Caracol to the project, resembling a distorted piece of furniture. To embrace the space, the Coroa stools, by designer Gustavo Bittencourt, launched at CASACOR 2022 were chosen; Egypt chairs, by Finnish designer Ilmari Tapiovaara; the Pachá armchairs, by designer Pietro Oliveira; the Dobras armchairs, by designer Bruno Niz, by Studio Niz; and the Jacaré Banks, by designer Vinicius Ladivez. The sophistication is due to the Full House furniture, which runs through the entire project with tables, chairs and stools.
For an even more welcoming environment, indirect lighting is present through the Ovo Estalado Luminaires, by designer Bia Rezende, and the Auge Luminaires, launched by La Lampe, designed by the Nada Se Leva studio. The rugs signed byKamy were chosen to highlight the youthful air, being the Vignole Ivory round 1.50x1.50, the Revolution round 2.00x2.00, Nylon Design Special 2.50x2.10 and the Gilvan Samico tapestry. of 1.50x1.50. Giving a stripped-down essence, the Movêu sideboard in chromate makes up part of the bar's décor.
Sustainability is one of the great pillars of the project, through the use of the structure with the least number of interventions, eliminating work processes that could generate waste, use of water-based paints, materials with minimal finishing and the use of of the artistic glass installation, present at Estúdio Liberdade, a CASACOR 2021 project by Pedro Luiz, signed by the architect and designer Lucas Recchia - made with molten glass plates and hanging by steel cables.
All the pieces signed by young Brazilian designers are also highlighted, such as the mirrors and the artistic intervention, by designer Alex Rocca, developed especially for the show; and the sculptures by Sonia Menna Barreto, from the André Gallery collection. Finally, the speaker present translates the essence of the bar, bringing the figure of disco and music to the space.
