A furnishing vendor recommended our services to Mr. Barot for his newly acquired 3BHK apartment in Sama, Vadodara. Mr. Barot had previously engaged another service provider, but he was left thoroughly confused by the process. In response, we took the time to thoroughly explain the entire procedure to him and provided several furniture layout options suitable for his compact apartment. Additionally, we shared a reference presentation to help him better understand his preferences, a step we take with all of our clients. Ultimately, we concluded that their primary need was to optimize the space in the compact apartment while still achieving a spacious aesthetic.
The entrance door, finished in Sucupira veneer, is complemented by a custom sun-inspired nameplate, as requested by the client, in reference to his ancestors' connection to the sun. Due to budget constraints, we opted for laminate that closely matches the veneer for all internal doors. To accommodate the need for additional seating, we arranged three sofa sets, including a lounger, between the living and dining areas, creating an open-concept space. A six-seater dining table made out of Italian finish 15mm full-body tile has been strategically placed, enhancing the sense of spaciousness. A simple ledge for TV with open shelving, designed in a sleek profile, contributes to the minimalistic aesthetic. No panelling was incorporated in either of these areas; instead, we focused on color contrasts to elevate the space's luxurious feel. Traditional Indian frames and Pichwai plates have been thoughtfully positioned on the living and dining walls, respectively, adding cultural charm.
Due to the compact size of the space, the puja unit has been thoughtfully integrated with the kitchen furniture. Pocket doors have been designed to ensure they do not obstruct the kitchen's space. The kitchen setup includes a pantry unit with a rolling shutter beside it, along with overhead cabinetry and wicker baskets beneath on the opposite side. To enhance the aesthetic, a light cream full-body tile has been used for the countertops, while beige laminate finishes the furniture. The choice of light tones was made intentionally to create a sense of openness and make the space appear larger despite its compact dimensions.
The master bedroom is designed in a neutral beige palette, accented with olive green tones. Most of the furniture is finished with self-patterned laminates, tailored to fit every corner to meet the client's needs. A study table extends from the headboard, also serving as a side table. The son's bedroom features a playful blue and grey concept, with a similar study unit that doubles as a side table next to the cushioned bed. A corner shelving unit, designed in a fun zigzag pattern and a football-inspired wallpaper are included, reflecting the son's interests. The guest cum parent’s bedroom, being the most compact, incorporates minimal furniture in soft pastel green hues. Due to the building's structure, two awkward offsets were created, which were thoughtfully transformed into storage spaces, with mirrors added for dressing purposes.
