A Place for Nature Contemplation

In a remnant of native forest in the City of Campinas, São Paulo, is immersed the BD House. The client's demand for a refuge, found in this terrain of unique characteristics, the ideal context. The solar orientation, topography and the positioning of the trees guided the implementation and volumetry of the project. Its division into three blocks allowed the preservation of the existing trees, in addition to favoring the creation of openings with great use of natural light as well as the different frames of the forest view. The project has great integration with the external environment, but still preserves the privacy of residents in relation to the street and neighbors.

The main access of the house is through the connection between the two main blocks, one that shelter the service spaces and the social area and the other, where are the bedrooms and the TV room. The garage is on the third block, detached from the main body of the house.

In the social areas, wide openings were created, establishing great spatial fluidity between the interior and exterior. The slope of the living room roof lead the looks to the forest and also to the deck, which is a fundamental part of the project, articulating the social, intimate and garden areas. Divided into two levels, it offers spaces for living and contemplating the forest. The wide staircase invites you to enjoy the view.

The sobriety of colors and finishing materials gives unity to the project and leaves the protagonism for the forest, the main point of residents and visitors attention.
