This conceptual house study for a seasoned adventure sports photographer, melds in with its wooded site. Situated in the trees with view corridors out to Bellingham Bay, it is all about the spot here. With our client's affinity for modern cabins with pointy roofs, we se out to find a simple, creative solution.

A plan diagram of 2 equal rectangles, shifted off each other, sets up the main living space on one side, with an upper and lower level suite. Each bedroom here having its own, solo adventure connecting with the landscape. One up in trees, one walking out into them. The second rectangle sets up the garage, gear storage(there is a lot), and the upper level studio home office.

The roof form follows suit. Two similar forms cloak over the boxes below, unifying them in a common language. An extended reach o nthe the one roof form creates the very pointy carport for the adventure van.
