Harrison and White were part of a submission for a new mixed use tower project in Vietman. The design solution is for a dynamic new face for HCMC. The “Bent towers” are sophisticated and elegant, yet economical. The tower shape maximizes natural light and ventilation and utilizes one core with separate entry lobbies. The design gives a simple structural solution with maximum dramatic effect. Patterned screens shield the building from sun as well as act as a security measure. The screen system is operable and flexible in use: it can be kept closed for security, or open for a clear view to the surrounding. The screens give a dramatic unified look to the building. The golden skin represents the golden light of the late afternoon sun in Ho Chi Minh City.
