The Beyond Gravity Circle in Zurich is a modern office complex with high standards for indoor climate, flexibility, and technical integration. For the interior design, a high-performance ceiling system was sought that met both thermal comfort requirements and architectural design specifications.

Installation of 14,000 linear meters of OPTI Y
A total of around 14,000 linear meters of the OPTI Y high-performance module were installed. The system is based on an open-ceiling concept with aluminum louvres and primarily uses free convection and radiation to cool and heat the rooms. This allows high cooling capacity whilst maintaining excellent indoor comfort.

Flexibility as a key planning objective
A key aspect of the project was the high flexibility of the office spaces. The architect planned a working environment that could be adapted to changing requirements even whilst the building was in use. It should be possible to reconfigure the layout at any time without restricting the function of the climate ceiling.
Easy customization thanks to the modular system
This is where the OPTI Y high-performance module demonstrated its strengths. The inactive modules can be cut to size on site and adapted to new room layouts. This allows elements such as lighting, sprinklers, smoke detectors or air outlets to be integrated retrospectively without any problems. Subsequent changes to the room layout also remain possible without the need to adapt the entire ceiling system.
High thermal performance for variable use
In addition to its flexibility, the system’s thermal performance was also impressive. OPTI Y achieves cooling capacities of up to approximately 198 W/m² (at 8 K) and can simultaneously provide heating capacities of up to 230 W/m² (at 15 K). This makes the system particularly suitable for premises with high cooling requirements and variable usage profiles.

Integrated ceiling layout through a combinable system architecture
A further advantage lies in the system's architecture, which is compatible with other systems. The high-performance module can be easily connected to various ventilation systems and, optionally, fitted with acoustically effective inserts. This creates an integrated ceiling layout that combines thermal performance, room acoustics and building services.
The implementation in the Beyond Gravity Circle demonstrates how modern climate ceiling systems can contribute to the long-term flexibility of office buildings. The combination of high performance, easy integration of fixtures and adaptability to future spatial concepts makes the OPTI Y system a suitable solution for dynamic working environments.
