“Bez Gwiazdek” Restaurant

A New Face of the “Bez Gwiazdek” Restaurant by Studio Rysik
Located in the heart of Warsaw’s Powiśle district on Wiślana Street, the „Bez Gwiazdek” restaurant has undergone a transformation that merges Polish culinary tradition with contemporary design. The interior design and comprehensive supervision of the project were led by Mariola Kowalska and Gabriela Radwanowska from Studio Rysik. The studio created a space where architecture is not merely a backdrop, but an integral part of the overall experience. The entire metamorphosis was completed in just three weeks, while strictly adhering to the budget and working under challenging acoustic conditions typical of an office building. It is proof that for Studio Rysik, “the impossible” is simply a standard element of the investment process.
The philosophy of “Bez Gwiazdek” is shaped by head chef Robert Trzópek, who honed his skills in places such as Noma and El Bulli. His passion for local products perfectly aligns with the architect’s vision, which is built on the same values: locality, authenticity of materials, and meticulous attention to detail.

From the very entrance, a glass partition with embedded linen separates the bustle of the street from the dining area, creating an atmosphere of intimacy. The interior deliberately avoids ostentatious luxury in favor of understated elegance. The materials used by the designers—flamed matte Strzegom granite, oak veneer, glass, and steel—form a coherent, multisensory palette. The roughness of stone contrasts with the smoothness of wood, while natural oil waxes release a subtle scent that enhances the guests’ experience.

Conscious Choices and Characterful Fixtures
The project combines high-quality craftsmanship with a curated selection of Polish brands. Mariola Kowalska relied on trusted partners, choosing electrical installation equipment by Kontakt-Simon, opting for the elegant and reliable Simon 82 series.
Every element of the interior is the result of a deliberate decision by Studio Rysik. Solid oak tables were custom-made by the In Wood We Trust manufactory, while chairs designed by Nikodem Szpunar come from the brand Noti. The bar area is equipped with fittings by Deante (Olfato kitchen faucet and sink), and in the restroom a Silia washbasin tap from Deante Design Studio was selected, ensuring functionality while maintaining aesthetic consistency.

The central feature of the restaurant is the chef’s island with “chef’s table” seating – the heart of the venue, where guests can observe the culinary magic up close. A unique narrative element is a map of Poland cut from veneer, subtly backlit to highlight the region from which the current menu originates. The interior color scheme is based on earthy tones, creating a calm backdrop for the culinary compositions served here.
The transformation of “Bez Gwiazdek” by Studio Rysik is more than just an aesthetic change. It is an example of a professionally managed investment process, where architecture complements the cuisine and the guest becomes a participant in a story told through taste, space, and scent.
