B-ILD approached this commission from a re-use perspective, limiting demolition and ground work as well as increasing the sustainable character of the new Out of School Care Centre. The existing shell of a former state school was used to house a hexagonal wooden volume that unites all the service spaces of the child care facility in the centre of the building, creating an acoustic buffer to divide two bright spaces for the children to enjoy.
