BKOLON V8 is a new concept of co-working for lovers of David Bowie that enjoy sipping a glass at the end of day with like-minded people. We propose a transformation project with reuse and generous shared spaces in mind. A soft dark wooden centerpiece with curved walls articulates the entire office space. Furnitures are a mix of Scandinavian design from Kinapps and vintage pieces from BH Møbler in Oslo.
The project transforms the 1920´ concrete structure of the historical headquarters of bakery Smiths-Ivertsen in Bergen into a new destination. It is part of wider development of the property that will become a new activity house in the heart of Marken neighbourhood. It brings together co-working, youth hostel, short-term residences, restaurants, café, mini-golf and billiard over 5000m2.

We propose a transformation with reuse and generous shared spaces in mind. A soft dark wooden center-piece with curved walls articulates the entire space and hide services like toilet, make-up room and garderobe. In return, it offers, hot desk, seating in niche and a kitchen-bar gives the space its welcoming side. We play with simple contrast like dark wood and white painted concrete, or cork and deep red tiles.
Furnitures are a mix of Scandinavian design from Kinapps and vintage pieces from BH Møbler in Oslo. The gentle oval pendant lights dates from 1930´ that we repaired and reused from the original office. We kept all the doors from the previous office space to repaint and reuse.
The office offers full services with 3 meeting rooms, one recording studio and numerous office space to rent over 450m2 in phase 1, and 980m2 when fully completed.
