This residence designed for a young couple was conceptually influenced by the context of the site, including a stunning view of a tropical forest on the East side.
Having a huge existing site area, single story buildings were proposed for most of the functions, with a semi-basement level in some parts of the buildings for service functions.
The site is divided into two zones: a drop off area, and the main house area. An outdoor passage provides connection between the two areas, while a long and wide verandah provides entry to the main house.
A building mass with North-South axis accommodates the living area, while another one with East-West axis accommodates the more private functions of the house. The bedrooms face the East, providing it with a stunning outdoor view, while the corridor faces the West. The two are connected by a narrow long ramp passage, creating a dramatic transition between the living area & the more private spaces. Service functions were put below the bedrooms, providing privacy for the bedrooms, while also utilizing the existing topography.
