A terrain of clouds, mountains & ponds…An upper layer of clouds – surrounding rings of mountains in the middle – a lower level of ponds…Clouds of solar panels, a sky of solar-panels – a middle landscape of berms, berms in waves, waves of berms – a ground that’s turned into water…
The solar-panels are supported by a space-frame: they’re up in the air, they make a flying roof…
The space-frame has a floor, a bottom panel: the sky is transmitted here, from the solar-panels above, through fiber-optics – it’s the sky in pixels, it’s a television sky -- the sky is your ceiling, it’s your own private sky...
Upside-down sky: the sky is reflected in the pools…
You walk on water (on ‘stepping stones’ of grating, just above the surface of water): you’re walking on the sky…
You rise up out of the water by spiraling up the berms you can lean back on the berms, sit on & in the berms, lie back on the berms, as if you’re in a planetarium, you’re covered by a blanket of sky…If you walk further up, your head is in the clouds…
The berms are gatherers of people &, at the same time, gatherers of material: the berms are clumps of concrete, with aggregate exposed: the concrete is there only as a base, it’s there only to hold other materials, it’s overrun by other materials, both natural & person-made – patches of greenery, shards of mirror (that become carriers of passages of sky)…
(At night, when no sky is transmitted through fiber-optics, when no sky is reflected in the pools – at night there might be projections, projections up onto the bottom of the space-frame, projections down onto the pools. Let’s hope you can come out, & sit on the berms, & see movies anytime of night – science-fiction skies, film-noir skies, romantic skies, dancing-on-the-ceiling skies…
