The Cannoli Cafe is spread over an area of 10,000 sft in the upscale location of jubilee hills. The client had a clear vision of what they were looking for and put forward their thoughts that at the very first process of the design we were clear about form and pattern of the spatial planning and its design. The brief given was- a café to be designed with counter space for 4 types of cuisines namely: 1) Pastry counter 2) Ice Cream counter 3) Coffee and snacks 4) Mexican food area The main emphasis was laid on not making it look like a counter with various foods and colors but to blend in the various cuisines on the menu with a neutral link and make it look like a single entity. That’s where we had the curved form connecting the long passage and breaking the length with the double-sided counters and adding elements and making the entire space connected and interactive with pockets of greenery and the ceiling followed the counter form to create a balance. To give a feeling of connectivity we have added long continuous curved bench seating on both the sides complementing with the swings on the other.

Choosing the materials and the colors played a very major role to bring in the neutrality given the colorful products displayed in the counters. Pine wood was majorly used to give a subtle feel coupled with white Corian counter tops and display tables along with a high top long curved counter table . A long glass rack for display brings in the perfect break to the monotonous colors along with the champagne colors metal display racks with a white illuminated box behind the counter making the entire space lively. The furniture and lights have been selectively designed keeping in mind the feel and flow of the space.
