In the open landscape of the Hainaut countryside stands an old farmhouse. Fields, gentle curves, a quiet presence. A raw rural territory to be preserved. The approach: to engage with what exists without imitating it. Reduce the footprint, concentrate functions, limit artifice. Build less, build right.
The project emerges from a dialogue: with the existing structure, with the site, with its use. The siting, materials, and volumes—each decision follows a logic of coherence and restraint. The architecture recedes without disappearing. It frames views, supports daily uses, and extends the spirit of the place. And on the horizon, a terrace facing the fields. A light, open presence—like a breath.
