Total renovation of private apartment.
The apartment is located in a building in the heart of Rome in the Trastevere district.
The pre-existing structure did not meet the needs of customers. The living room was very far from the kitchen, one of the two bathrooms was very small and the entrance was too closed.
On the upper floor, the attic, which was accessed via an external spiral staircase, there is a veranda and a large terrace with a wonderful view of Rome.The clients' request was to have two bedrooms, possibly both with en suite bathrooms, a half bathroom for guests and to have the living room and kitchen in the same room. Furthermore, their greatest desire was to have a staircase that internally connected the downstairs to the upstairs, without passing through the already existing uncomfortable external staircase.
In the entrance area, a new internal staircase was designed that leads to the veranda of the attic, the en suite bathroom, a half bathroom for guests and a closet also containing the technical room for the systems.
Wonderful slabs of fine marble were chosen for these two bathrooms. Black maraschino marble for the guest bathroom with gold taps and accessories and black and white arabesque marble with bronze accessories for the en suite bathroom.
The old kitchen was transformed into the en suite bathroom of the master bedroom which now, thanks to the new internal staircase, also has its own private terrace, no longer requiring the spiral staircase to access the attic.
The marble chosen for the master bathroom is Verde Alpi with a brass combination for taps and accessories.
Each marble element has been designed down to the smallest detail and tailor-made by Italian workers.
The small terrace downstairs houses a custom piece of furniture where the laundry room has been inserted.
The living room and kitchen have been designed as a single, very spacious and bright environment.
The living room area houses a wood-burning fireplace which makes the environment very relaxing. A true rarity for the Trastevere area.
The entrance area has gained brightness thanks to the opening onto the living area.
Climbing the new internal staircase leads to the small glassed-in living room of the attic, from which you can enjoy the view of the splendid terrace even in the colder months. In the mild months, however, by opening all the sliding French windows, the terrace becomes an extension of the home.
During the maintenance and revision phase of the covering of the glass body, the slope of the roof was modified and a rainwater collection tank was designed for watering the plants and for draining the bathrooms.
