The project was conceived for a couple of entrepreneurs who live outside São Paulo; however, as their daughters and their respective families live in São Paulo, they wanted a countryside retreat that would symbolize the family’s meeting point for moments of leisure, rest and togetherness.

The client requested a house that could bring the whole family together and provide different experiences for everyone, with leisure areas such as a spa, gym, game room, playroom and gourmet space.

To accommodate the new program, we designed a new area integrated with the main house. In this annex area are the guest suites, spa area, sauna and changing rooms.
All spaces were designed to meet the desire for comfortable, contemporary environments that would dialogue with the landscape.

The project encompasses the complete renovation of the main body of the house, including the redesign of the façades and architectural style, replacement of all finishes and entirely new interior design, as well as an expansion with the construction of an annex connected to the main house, which accommodates the guest suites and spa area. To better organize the house, it was necessary to relocate the main staircase.

With the expansion and change in the house program, it was necessary to recalculate and redo all the building systems, including the implementation of solar energy and the update of other installations, taking into account system modernization and sustainability.

The inspiration for the project was to bring natural and at the same time timeless elements, as wood and travertine stone, creating a sense of warmth. The use of perforated elements, whether in the brises along the bedroom circulation or in the mashrabiya panel that defines spaces such as the dining room, was introduced as a way to control light and provide a certain level of privacy without enclosing the spaces.
In the decoration, we sought to use elements that reflect the clients’ personality, as the artworks in the main living room and the shelving unit we designed as if it were a small pharmacy, with antique glass bottles and perfume containers that reflect the client’s profession.

In the outdoor area, the large infinity-edge pool that dissolves into the landscape is a major highlight. Therefore, we can say that the main inspiration was the family’s lifestyle and their interaction with nature.

The integration of the new construction with the main house.

We used timeless materials. For all flooring, raw Roman travertine; European oak wood for panels, furniture and bedroom floors. Custom-made concrete panels by Tresuno for the façade. Charred wood for the façade, and peroba wood also for the façade.
We selected a limited palette of materials that are repeated throughout the project.
