Casa Naab is first perceived not through detail, but through mass. A restrained composition with clear lines, where horizontality prevails and is interrupted only by a central volume that accommodates the entrance. Not as an isolated gesture, but as a pause: a point of tension that organizes the façade and anticipates the interior experience.
Materiality reinforces this initial perception through a restrained and precise palette. Concrete, plaster, stone, and wood shape the main body of the house, while black accents in structural and steel elements reinforce its monolithic character. Vegetation appears consistently, filtering in from the surrounding context and occupying every available interstice, softening the presence of the built mass and adding depth to the whole.
In this layout, the project is organized as a built strip that wraps around a central garden. This void becomes the core from which spaces and their relationships are structured. A small gesture—the separation between the pool and one of the lateral volumes—allows vegetation to slip inward, subtly breaking the closed geometry and reinforcing the connection with the immediate surroundings.
The pool is positioned at the edge of the project, marking a point of closure within the layout. Its presence organizes the immediate outdoor space and supports the relationship between the social areas and the central garden, without asserting itself as a dominant element.
Inside, the ground floor is defined by the generosity of its ceiling heights. The doubleheight foyer, accompanied by a continuous wooden staircase with a sculptural character, immediately establishes a sense of spaciousness, light, and ventilation. This gesture underscores the importance of the social areas, which unfold as a single fluid space where the living room, dining room, and kitchen coexist without hierarchy, always oriented toward the central void.
Toward one end, the U-shaped layout is completed by the terrace and bar; toward the other, by the main bedroom. Both spaces open onto the garden, establishing a direct and constant relationship with this green core, around which the interior life of the house is organized.
The upper floor rests between two concrete planes, forming a more contained volume. Here, ceiling heights are reduced and the atmosphere becomes more intimate. The program is limited to the bedrooms, condensed on one side of the project, allowing the back façade to maintain a flatter, more approachable reading, with a gentle scale.
An architecture of strong presence, where mass asserts itself with clarity and voids organize space, shaping a way of inhabiting defined by matter and spatial precision.
