Our Turkish studio has been commissioned to design the new Istanbul Headquarters for Cengiz Group. The building occupies a prominent site in the Altunizade district in the City. The brief requires a building which respects the long history of Cengiz Group and also provides a unique environment for visitors and customers.
The accommodation includes administration offices, staff and VIP dining areas, Chairmans’ suite and support facilities. The design organises these elements into an “embassy” style of building, confidently expressing the solidity and qualities of Cengiz Group yet providing a protected world internally.
The public frontage comprises two stone clad pavilions flanking the central entrance portal in dark granite, creating a strong classic facade facing the busy street. The reception space features a full height timber screen, referencing the screens in Turkish traditional buildings and sits within a dramatic 6m wide atrium which runs across the full width of the building. Bridge links connect the main offices to meeting rooms and VIP offices located in the front pavilions.
The more private offices are planned within highly efficient space organised around a central core. The office space benefits from 10.5m clear spans for maximum flexibility and a 3.0m floor to ceiling height
