Architectural Gateway: A Multifunctional Industrial Hub
The architectural solution layout outlines the creation of a compact, multifunctional building situated northeast of the industrial district. Rising four stories above ground, the structure is designed to accommodate communal functions, including a dedicated portion of floor area for offices.
The intervention establishes a service hub supporting both users and manufacturing activities. Interconnected and complementary to the industrial function, it generates new opportunities for interaction with other hubs in the corporate system, with the city, and among the functions within the district itself.
Geometry, Orientation, and Facade Narrative
The building’s regular geometry, longitudinally aligned with the axis of Via San Leonardo, echoes the orientation of the surrounding existing structures, effectively acting as an intelligent terminal and a gateway to the production system.
The stereometric grid of the facade design imparts order and dimensionality to the building envelope, explicitly revealing the framework of the structural elements. It alternates opaque, semi-transparent, and transparent modules, creating a dynamic interplay of depth through the application of expanded steel mesh panels.
