City Hotel is a 25-room boutique urban hotel designed as a mixed-use destination where hospitality and public life intersect. Located at one of the district's most prominent intersections, the project accommodates a café at ground level, extending its relationship with the city beyond the hotel program and creating an active social interface throughout the day.
The defining challenge of the project was its triangular site geometry, which inherently limited spatial efficiency and circulation. Rather than treating this condition as a constraint, the design transforms it into one of the project's strongest architectural qualities. A soft, curved building envelope responds to the sharp geometry of the site, allowing the structure to engage the surrounding streets from multiple directions while establishing a fluid and welcoming urban presence.
Permeability became the project's primary design principle. The transparent ground floor dissolves the boundary between interior and exterior, extending the café and hotel lobby into landscaped outdoor spaces and encouraging continuous pedestrian interaction. This approach transforms the base of the building into an active extension of the public realm rather than a conventional hotel entrance.
The façade is conceived as a rhythmic composition of precast concrete frames, transparent glazing, and recessed balconies. A restrained material palette emphasizes proportion, light, and shadow instead of visual complexity, allowing the building to establish a distinctive identity through geometry rather than ornament. The repetitive façade modules continue into the interior, where rhythm becomes the main organizing principle, guiding spatial organization, circulation, and lighting throughout the project.
The building is constructed with a reinforced concrete structural system and a prefabricated precast façade, combining construction efficiency with precision. Concealed linear LED lighting is integrated into the façade geometry, revealing its depth after sunset while preserving its calm and minimal expression during daylight. The lighting strategy reinforces the building's role as an urban landmark and contributes to the vitality of one of the city's busiest public nodes.
Rather than relying on an iconic form alone, City Hotel seeks to contribute to its context through openness, proportion, and spatial continuity. By transforming the limitations of a triangular site into a defining architectural feature, the project creates a contemporary boutique hotel that strengthens the relationship between architecture, public space, and everyday urban life.
