Taking full advantage of the open site facing the intersection along the Asamizu River, this single-story clinic features a gently sloping roof that blends seamlessly with the distant satoyama landscape.

To protect the examination rooms from the traffic noise and views at the intersection, we integrated a concrete wall. This wall allows the lush interior plantings to spill over, creating a welcoming presence for the neighborhood. Additionally, the approach steps—designed to overcome the site's elevation change—face the bicycle parking area, doubling as a bench to foster a community-friendly atmosphere.

As a wooden clinic deeply rooted in its locality, the building actively incorporates regional timber. In the examination rooms, local Fukui cedar beams are left exposed to celebrate the structural design. Furthermore, Fukui cedar panels flow seamlessly from the waiting room ceiling out to the entrance eaves, beautifully blurring the line between interior and exterior spaces.
